Being Energy vs Steerage Centered

You can be energy or Steerage oriented, and depending on which one it is, your perception and experience of life will vary.

With the former one, it feels like motivations are coming from inside, being aspects of your psyche. It’s doing your bidding. Energy is fragmented into “characters” with their own voices. I think it’s fundamentally more egoic and dualistic, in that there’s this ever-present contrast of one energy vs another.

Regarding Steerage orientation, what’s happening feels mysterious and like it’s coming from “outside”. It feels like surrendering to God and doing Its bidding. You’ve let go of control and life becomes like a constant test of whether you can stay in that state, no matter what happens. A test of whether you trust in God or not.

Your orientation depends on your maturity and state of consciousness. With the rising in consciousness, a person moves closer towards being Steerage oriented. But it definitely takes time. I recommend first becoming really aware of the energetic reality, its dynamics, and learning how to “work” with it. Once you see it clearly and have your lessons learned, it’s much easier to move on to Steerage orientation. I think the top lessons from understanding energy dynamics are the groundwork for starting a consistent journey with Steerage.

Your orientation will also affect what’s actually happening in reality. Though it’s not like following Steerage will necessarily result in “good” outcomes all the time. “Negative” experiences will still happen and they’ll test your surrender. I think the best way to describe it is that reality will unfold more optimally. What’s optimized is growth in consciousness.

You might notice that many of my posts are from an energy-centered perspective and many are from Steerage-centered. That’s right. I’m currently between two worlds. I’m allowing myself to be multifaceted though so I am fine with expressing both perspectives. And it’s not like the insights about energy are false – they’re simply a lower level of truth. In the future, I’ll probably move away from the energy-centered perspective.
